Governor George Ryan has been marred by controversy and
criticism. But a University of Illinois law professor says the
governor's work on death penalty reform should earn him a Nobel
Peace prize.
Francis Boyle will begin a worldwide campaign to nominate the
governor. Boyle says Ryan has a decent chance.
Many Europeans oppose the death penalty and the Nobel committee
often uses the prize to deliver political
messages.
